What Is Face To Face Communication?

It is defined by speech experts that face to face communication is an instance that happens when two or more persons communicate with each other through oral media in the physical presence. Added to it is the notion that all face to face communication is oral but not all oral communication is face to face. For instance, a video call conversation are oral communication but cannot be termed as face to face because the people involved in exchanging messages are not physically present from each other.

Here quoted again is the thought from authors Thill and Bovee implying that “face to face communication is the richest medium because it is personal, it provides immediate feedback, it transmits information from both verbal and non-verbal case, and it conveys the emotion behind the message.” From here, it is concluded that this kind of communication features the following: physical presence of both parties; immediate message feedback from the receiver of the message; both verbal and non verbal case in transmitting messages and story behind each conversation in the message is revealed.

This face to face communication is one of the most effective tools in conveying what you want to say to other people because it gives us very fast feedback from the whole communication cycle process. It is also very important during meetings in any kind of institution. It is less expensive because there would be no other technological devices needed for the whole process. Sending of some secret information among those inside the conversation is very possible. And above all, this kind of communication can be easily understood by a human heart and mind.
